| | flutgos Dec 29, 2012 It is pretty easy to tell when it is a bot. Bots normally reply fairly quickly to messages, wouldn't have an okcupid profile linked to a phone number, and aren't very specific in their replies. As for the age I am not 100% sure but her profile is pretty lengthy and she gives very detailed information in which bots don't normally do. I don't think a bot would know the name of my elementary school from 18 years ago that no longer exists. |

Rant: So yesterday I visited a profile of a girl yesterday who was pretty good looking and seemed to have a lot in common with me. Her profile stated that she is sick of meeting jerks and is just looking for a nice guy. She initiated a conversation with me after I visited her profile. She gave me her number almost immediately so I proceeded to text her. She is in Florida for vacation so I first commented about how Florida sounds really nice and that there is currently 5 inches of snow where I live (Ohio). She replies with "hiiiii." I don't really know how to reply to that so I just say "So...what's up?"
We finally start talking about random things and get to know each other a little bit. I found out that her birthday is five days from mine and that she teaches school in the same town that I attended 1st-3rd grade. We seem to hit it off a bit.
Out of nowhere she then tells me that her day has been really stressful because she is on her period and that she had a uti. I tell her that I don't really mind her telling me that but that she probably shouldn't tell people things like that that she has known for a whole ten hours. I started getting sick yesterday so I proceeded to tell her that I wasn't feeling well either.
Before I go to bed I ask her if she is feeling any better. She didn't reply so I thought that it was over right there. I made one last ditch effort this morning and asked again how she was doing. She said that she was doing okay.
Right after that she tells me to send her a "pictaaaa" and asks if I have snapchat. I tell her that I don't and I didn't want to send her a picture because I am pretty sick and am not looking that great at the moment. I told her that I left work early today because I wasn't feeling good. She replies, "Who cares." I reply with "lol me" and thought that was the end of it. She seemed pretty mad about me not sending a picture to her for some reason.
Five hours later I get a text from her saying "ok ur boring me." I said "sorry" and she says "yup bye." That was the end of her texts but I had to say something to her about the way she was acting. I have never interacted with someone so odd and selfish in my life. I finally said to her "You're not going to meet a nice guy being like that just so you know."
I just had to rant and tell somebody about this. I have never experienced something like this. I don't understand how anybody could act that way. Has anybody encountered such characters on here?
