| trish6912 Feb 8 spoken like a true right wing tea bagger zealot. Thank you. LOL | |
| rip59 Feb 8 I'll leave the bagging to you. How's your snow?

Yeah, except for the fact that you work overtime blaming the cat's whiskers and everything else on Obama so you clearly are trying very hard to discredit him. Why not you reconcile your work with your statement and just let Obama do his thing?
| rip59 Feb 8 I pretty much do that, fx. Yanno, I personally, have no problem with barry. Some of my best friends are socialists. Hell, fx, I even like you and Trish and most of the "vast left wing audience". Time to cut bait and let you young folks fight over the last few crumbs left of a solvent economy. If the sailing were a little smoother, I'd probably put up with it but like I was telling one of the x's this am ; the higher this higher cap gains gets , it really takes all the "fun" out of doing business , and if it ain't fun ? Why do it? | |
| Side--Effect Feb 8 OK. See ya tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after that... If you're serious about leaving start checking ex pat forums to learn what you need to know. FYI Argentina has the easiest path to citizenship. | |
| rip59 Feb 8 Never leaving Fl , fx. Just leaving the work place. Determined not to be a non-profit org. | |
| Side--Effect Feb 8 So, you're giving up your part time job of being a house flipper to become a full time capitalist and just collect rents? | |
| rip59 Feb 8 Actually, It will take about two years to flip the rentals. That's the end of my career. LOL. Needless to say, creative selling and thinking outside of the box are on the forefront. Market, really ,looks like a little spike , so I do consider this a kind of pre storm hiatus. | |
| trish6912 Feb 8 The attack on the middle class by the wealthy and powerful over the last 30 years has been pretty effective. The rich has gotten filthy rich while the middle class has shrunk, decent paying union jobs are scarce. The GOP still has to go after the Post Office, teachers, and then dock workers and the destruction of the middle class will be pretty much complete. I only hope they have high enough fences around their mansions or enough fuel in their jet planes to slink off out of here after they've ruined the country. | |
| rip59 Feb 8 Well, I don't think in such a generalized manner. A lot has happened in the past 45 years since I started singing for my supper. Won, lost, everything in between. Good and sad stories from the work place. Sure glad I'm 54 and not 19, The young ones are gonna have it tougher. See what develops, Trish. Stay healthy, we'll always make a buck. Don't become a hater. Unless of course, it's the guvmint you're hatin on. | |
| rip59 Feb 9 Getting back to point. What would it matter if the guvmint reduced the hours of ALL employees from letter carriers to spenders in chief to 29 hrs per week? Personally, once a week mail delivery works just fine. Make sure these parasites get the same health insurance that private sector employees must endure. Trish likes to alienate a "successful ruling class" ; I agree ; we do have a privledged social class in this country ; the "guvmint" employee. Overpaid and overfed. Your typical AFSCME lackie. | |
| Side--Effect Feb 9 I agree that government workers should use the same pension and health plans as regular citizens. Government jobs are like welfare, they put an enormous amount of money into circulation so that the rest of us have jobs. Cutting 11 hours from their work weeks all at once would kill the economy, but cutting 1 hour per week annually instead of a COLA could actually be productive. As long as Congress remains in the control of the two parties and lobbyists any savings will be spent elsewhere though. http://www.thirty-thousand.org/
They are overpaid so that they will want to keep their jobs no matter how distasteful the jobs become. They will not raise questions of the Constitutionality of their duties as long as they're getting more than their fair share.
| rip59 Feb 9 So, ah , we have to give folks "welfare checks" and keep plants and vegtables on the guvmint payroll just to keep our economy so "robust". Really? | |
| Chaeddd Feb 9 If we put the democrats in congress in charge of the Post Office they would have the post men riding on the garbage truck and he would deliver mail while the garbage men dumped the garbage in the truck. | |
| MrsIselin Feb 9
Sounds about right. And "honey"? Whatever gave you THAT idea?
| smashingmayo Feb 9 nsert wants me.
| |
| Side--Effect Feb 9
Yes. You can't take that money out of circulation all at once because too many jobs depend on it. Robust is not quite the right word. Viable is more correct.
| rip59 Feb 10 Allright , fx, that statement is direct from the J. M. Keynes playbook. Centuries of prior failure. More of a paper based economy. Ahem, let's go from viable to pathetic and getting worse. | |
| Side--Effect Feb 10 How about you go from viable to pathetic and getting worse: The effect of putting millions out of work would take the demand for everything out of the market including your houses. That would lower prices. So instead of ruining the economy for everyone, you can just raise your prices which will reduce the demand for your products only. Start at doubling for a month then triple for the next month and 4 X the third month and so on. I'm sure that you can see the flaw in that plan, but hey, it's what you want so I say go for it. | |
I don't really think myself or any other right wing zealot would have to work very hard at discrediting or delegitimizing the office, barry can do that FOR HIMSELF.
