Don't worry about it, I figured it out.

You just go into settings, then click on location and basic information.

Gender and orientation is the first option under basic information.

i don't see any edit page/tab that says "basic information" or "settings". could you please specifically tell me how you got there?

what browser are you using, btw?

catwrangler: you might have had more of a chance trying to convince someone that gender is inborn, but even that one is going to require a lot of work.  Sexuality is certainly not inborn.  Even on OkCupid.  Or maybe I should say, especially not on OkCupid.  :P

Yes, that's why people call themselves things like "transgendered", "cisgendered", and so on.

Besides, celibate people don't have sex.  :P
