Didn't there used to be an OKtrends article about this.

Or has Oceania always been at war with Eastasia?

There was one.  But then OK Cupid was bought by  Mashable has an article on this at:

And is it just me or the new OkTrends blog post is written in a different style and doesn't sound nearly as insightful as the previous ones? They probably got someone else to write them. Bummer.

It's the same guy (Christian Rudder).

I agree it sounds slightly different, but I'm wondering if it was just because he didn't spend quite as much time on the writing side of it this time. Maybe it was rushed-out or something.

Personally I really liked it though - who woulda thunk that if you wanna find a chique for sex on the first date, you gotta find one who likes the taste of beer? heh....

From psyicide's link:

[...] Apparently, the story was pieced together from public information, and Yagan has learned that some of the assumptions made in it were untrue.

I wonder what the untrue assumptions were.

I wonder what the untrue assumptions were.

Perhaps that OkCupid would never be in bed with and the other pay dating sites that IAC operates.  :P

It would be interesting to see just which assumptions were untrue.  It seemed to me that Chris gave a lot of benefit of the doubt to the paid dating sites that were represented in that article.  I am, however, quite surprised to hear that a free dating site was "sold over" to a paid one.  As long as we still don't have to pay, it's all good... but again, I'm just surprised to learn that.
