I would like to block the floating box that tells me "A-List
users can see when photos were uploaded" as I scroll up and down
while looking at a user's photographs. I know that this can be done
with Adblock, but I lack the expertise to block elements such a
these. Also, a note to ALL PROGRAMMERS: Please stop using floating
elements and elements that become visible with positioning. Users
HATE that moving crap.
Thanks in advance for the help!

You may want to check userscripts.org or stylish.org and see if
anyone put something there. I doubt adblock is selective enough to
block page elements that originate on the same domain as the
primary content, though I haven't looked at it in detail.
