So I've been digging the conversations happening in journal-land, and I've managed to figure out how to make the paragraphs separate so it doesn't come out as one huge "BLAT" of words, but...

How do I format more specifically?  I see people using bold or italics, and all sorts of neat flashy tricks.  Someone tried to tell me but rather than typing out the names for the symbols she just used them and so her examples disappeared.  Halp?

hi. so you just need to use html and you can do whatever you want. for bold you surround the word(s) you want with <' b '> and <'/b'> (excluding the apostrophes. i'll repeat that sentence without the apostrophes: for bold you surround the word(s) you want with and - it works!). similarly with italics only you use the letter 'i' instead of 'b'. just do a web search for html and you can figure out how to do whatever else you want. i don't know if this is what you wanted. just type what you want and use the html symbols. hope this helps.

Hm... don't remember ever using an apostrophe in html.

tldr; "<'b'>" or "<b>" ?

<'b'> test 1 <'/b'>

 test 2

I guess that answers that question.

The forum editor is WYSIWYG, so all you have to do is highlight the text you want the italic attribute to apply to, then click the "I" button in the editor tools to apply that attribute.

Alternatively, you can type "[CTRL] I" on the keyboard when editing, and this will set the Italic attribute for newly-typed text.
