I was not able to log into my account, Razvedchik, can anyone verify that it has indeed been deleted and okcupid is not suffering from another server failure?

I see your journal post but cannot pull up your profile. Is the search on the home page up top right?

Search is on the top right, search results in two journal posts, neither of which are visible to me. However, all my forum threads shows up in the search, which don't usually happen for a deleted account, either it is a malfunction, or that it takes time to completely erase all traces of that account.

Is there a contact with the OKC site managers?

Yes, I have logged a feedback, but I don't think I will get a response soon at this time of the year.

Forum posts are no longer removed for inactive accounts, the post remains and if you mouseover the profile thumbnail it will show "inactive user".  (Which is indeed what happens for "Razvedchik".)

There are 2 possibilities:

  1. Account was deleted
  2. Account was disabled

Either one could have been because someone guessed your password, logged-in and deleted or disabled the account.

You don't use simple dictionary words or simple names for your password, right?  You don't login on computers that other people also use, right?  You haven't had any virus or trojan infections on your computer, right?

Passwords: We are all adults here, and everyone should know by now that the best Password is at least 9 characters and contains Numbers in some Random order,  that way it can't be guessed.

Maybe Its because you Issued a challenge to flagmod........

I believe your profile was deleted because of the fuss you put up over the drawing you had as your main photo this past week. I have seen a lot of your old profile in flag mod and I think that was what did it.

Hmmm... Who'd thought that openly challenging the flagmod could get you deleted...

Razvedchik- I remember seeing you around the forums and in flagmod too- and I can't think of what you might have done to be deleted.  I don't think I've seen you come up for a flagged issue- not any I can think of.  I think this might be an error.  Rachel couldn't get into Flagmod yesterday, she thought she'd been blocked but the problem fixed itself.

...Oh! His drawing got flagged? I must have missed it.
*sigh* If that's his ONLY problem then, I'd say its ridiculous that his account was deleted.  For that? Oh, c'mon...

*grin* You didn't post peen pics in the last 24 hours did you?

I'm certain it was because he kept uploading a drawing. I saw it go through flagmod quite a few times in quick succession. Someone most likely flagged his profile as a repeat offender. I didn't see it though.

Oh.

Wow. That must have happened last night.
This is....damn.  I think it sucks.  At least you didn't lose like 20 awards like Jeelo did, did you?
(And I really think the fact that his personal flagger "friended" him, and then "friended" his new account is something that admin needs to address.)

You should be able to decide whether people get to friend you or not.  If they're just doing it to harass, that is INCREDIBLY not cool.
I've been writing to some people I've seen for pic problems- begging them to journal so as not to be deleted.  I can't do this alone...please if there are any other flaggers who care, just write these people a note.
Make them see that we're people too- and that there's nothing to be won in a battle of wills. Its a DUMB fight and there's other ways to challenge the rules.

Yeah, scarmelover added me to her favourite list, and stayed up all night flagging and deleting my picture. Only lost three awards, so I guess it isn't too bad. Except that now I can't remember the name of that woman who said I have the nicest boy's butt she has ever seen...

Oh, you still had that note?  I was drunk and sending inappropriate emails- How embarassing!

Scarmelover seems to have a vendetta against minor rule infractions. Hopefully someone with no  life as well will give her a taste of her own medicine and she'll be gone too.

I just don't understand why she's taking out people who've personally done her no harm.  And again I say- just imagine if we put her dedication to work on eliminating a real scourge- like the cam whores.  Men universally loathe them and they're a hassle to deal with- but almost impossible to eliminate on a free site.
Hell, she could even have fun sending them hate mail, and she'd be in the right!  We'd be happy for her, if she could put a dent in the tsunami of bots we see day after day.

Besides, we've already seen that even IP bans aren't user-proof so if you have someone raising a ruckus, why not see if you can channel that energy in a different direction?

-And yes, this is coming from ME. And I know you've seen how furious I've been on this topic...
I just thought it through and looking forward realized the ultimate pointlessness of it and decided to rethink my attitude towards that particular user.

I have a hard time believing that scarmelover could unilaterally get a profile nuked of someone who was supposedly(1) repeatedly posting a drawing for a pic... when I've seen so many aged profiles with penis pics and high counts of pic flags.  And if she could, then either she has some direct relation with staff or flagmod agreed with her by a high margin(2).

afuntailgator: Use the 'send us feedback' link at the bottom of the page.

(1) I don't know if he was or wasn't, just taking it as a given for this discussion

(2) the second scenario would not be a 'unilateral' thing

This is what I get when I tried to log on, so the account must have been deleted by staff or flagmod, and not by someone who hacked into my account.

Yes, I repeatedly uploaded a drawing as my picture to see how late scarmelover was willing to stay up to flag it, it turned out to be, whole night...

Actual account deletions are enacted by staff.  Flagmod only nominates a profile for deletion.  (When I can find the staff comment that I know this from again, I'll post it in my journal with the other staff links I have.)  I think the greater lesson to be learned is to not intentionally and repeatedly break the rules.
