| | LostInTheStack Aug 17, 2011 Tell you an interesting story at the risk of derailing spidershark's flirt thread. I've never been that good with women. I'm shy when it comes to romance and while I'll talk and socialize with anyone, I don't know how to tell someone I like them, let alone love them. This means I've been dateless for most of my life. Two years ago my brother and his girlfriend where having a going away party as both of them where moving to Lexington. One of her close friends was there, we got on very well and we ended up going on a series of dates. Before I went on the first one I specifically asked my brother's girlfriend how old she was and was told she was 23. 11 years is a lot but not too much so I went along with it. Turns out she was 19. While that white lie had nothing to do with the breakup, it did get me to thinking about age differences. I'm of the opinion that I'm not going to initiate anything with anyone younger than 12 years from me. If she's making the first move I'll be open to the idea, but I feel it's improper in a 'dirty old man' sense to go chasing anyone that much younger than me. That was 2 years ago. I still miss her a lot but I have to move on. Unfortunately I've not really improved at dating except perhaps in that I know it can happen, if only briefly. We know return you all to your regularly scheduled flirt thread. |

I really hate that about myself. It leads to the people who are interested in me thinking i'm not interested in them, when really i'm just clueless :( |

They're awfully cute, and I don't have any sort of ethical problem with it, but I find that if a woman is still in college we have a hard time relating. Just too much of a lifestyle difference.
