So i've got 2 tickets to a comedy show in San Francisco in late March. I'm about a 2 hours drive to S.F. I would really prefer to use this as a date rather than take a friend.

And now my problems:

1) There isn't enough time to meet someone in my area and have them be comfortable enough with me to drive to S.F.

2) I'm trying to message ladies in S.F. but i'm having a difficult time talking to anyone because of our 90+ miles distance so they think I want to come over and have sex or whatever. I would be totally cool with just a one time date and to be honest I don't want a long distance relationship.

Any suggestions on how to talk to someone from a distance into going on a one time date without sounding creepy or making it a sales pitch?

Try posting it in your profile...you have two tix....looking for someone interesting in that area to join you for a fun night.

Orrrrrr, actively look for specific women in that area that you're interested in and message them. If the messaging goes well, ask her if she'd like to join you there. Maybe plan something for before and/or after.

Take a friend.

or a new, maybe lame, but trusting new date,

you'll still enjoy the show.

I guess this is a little late seeing as how your problem is already solved, but from my experience, online dating sites are a bad place to look for a date for a specific event at a specific time on a specific day. The online dating racket isn't easy enough to find a suitable suitor for that. Unless you're a super hot chick, in which case you could easily use it for such a purpose.

Actually I was being sarcastic to BiggestCockEver because I didn't want to bring a friend but I guess it didn't translate. I actually solved the problem by posting an ad on craigslist so I could explain myself upfront versus constantly striking out on okc.

wrong about writing people off publically; for functional people, dating locally isnt a problem, and things like being able to chat with molly, who lives in england, when you live in new york are the only reason they would approach the internet from a social angle, and being outspoken with your rigid dating requirements is obnoxious

therefore:

dont say "long distance relashionship" it sounds like you read relationship columns and are too inexperienced for any women to consider meeting you; and the ones who would would be loose women no matter the circumstances
