what exactly does it mean when you see the chat bubble on someones profile? does it mean they are on chat now or just that they are available to chat?  also...if they have not been messaged in over a week does that mean no one has sent them an email or a chat or just an email???

I'll be interested in the answer to this as well.  I haven't figured chat out yet.  I got a message that someone seemed to have sent me a chat message, but it didn't go through.  Don't quite understand why....

It means they have chat enabled. Just click on it and you can chat with them.

It's supposed to show that chat is enabled and they are online now, but there is a lag from the server. So sometimes it shows they're there after they already left.

About the 'over a week' thing, I think it means either email or chat. That's a notice I hate to see. No one has talked to them in a week? Well, half the time, they have an empty profile or they look boring. No wonder.

Yes, because boring people deserve to be shunned. Very very understanding and considerate of you. Who knew that online dating sites were meant only for the exciting and attractive...

If it is a guy then it means that you can click on it and chat . If it is a girl then it means that you may or may not chat depending upon whether she wants to or not.

^ Now I feel guilty, csgrad! :-( I should chat more, I guess...

Hey, DiscoJer, who used the word Attractive or Exciting? Neither of those is the opposite of boring.

Exciting is the opposite of boring.

Because of the crazy lag (at least for me), the chat bubble doesn't mean a damned thing. Every time I message someone who's online, I'm told they went offline. But even if I refresh her profile, it still says she's online. WTF!

@messa,

if you look at the persons profile pic and name at the top, if they have their chat on, there will be a little blue bubble RIGHT next to their name. If you click on that blue bubble, it should open up the chat box. Also, if you look at some of your visitors or messages sent or received, some of those have the blue dot next to their name so you know they have their chat open.

I've heard that it can show someone is still online for about 1/2 hour after they've logged off, and I'm not sure how long if they're using the phone app.

^ It goes off immediately if they sign off. If they just close the window it's a half hour, and they will go to annoying messages that are extremely hard to delete for some odd reason.

Actually, interesting is more close to being the opposite of boring, I think.

This thread is the opposite of boring.
