Hi.  I'm new to this site and was wondering how the star rating system worked.  If I rate someone, will they know?  Also, if someone rates me how do I know what they rated me?  Under the "Stats" on the left hand side of my screen, I have clicked the star votes and two people showed up but I'm not quite sure how to interpret it.  How do I know what they rated me?  Would I only find out what they rated me if they had rated me a 4 or 5?  Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they won't know, unless you both 4 or 5-star each other, then OKC will send both of you a PM that you both apparently like each other.  At least it does that with Quickmatch.

yes, you only find out if you both rate each other a 4 or 5.  Also, some folks have pointed out that it also notifies you if you both rate each other a 1, lol.  I have yet to see that happen.  Although some people think it's kinda superficial (esp. since some may not take it that seriously & just rate whoever they think is "doable" without regard for what their profile says), I think star rating is a pretty nifty idea actually.  Instead of just wondering if you're mutually attracted to anyone like you would in a real life situation, it only lets you know if it's mutual.  Now if they could just find a way to do that in real life (like a radar, lol), that would be pretty cool.

Oh man, THAT would be something!

So if the two people listed in my star votes area don't have anything next to them it means they voted lower than a 4-5?  I personally don't really care but but it would be cool to know.  And thanks for responding to my previous post.

The scores in the Star Votes area are the ones you've given to them. If you change the filter to "no vote" to "no vote" some people still appear, these may be people you've voted "Can't Tell" on but I've also found that if I then subsequently try to set a vote it will stay for 24 hours then get erased. Most odd.

Years ago, the Japanese developed this little keychain that would alert you when another user had similar (limited pre-programmed interests) was nearby.  I thought this idea was fantastic!
