Yeah? I designed an awesome logo today for a photographer. But then my roomie bought a wacom tablet and I am mad jealous. But he also bought me dinner. But my BF pissed me off today. So overall, I think I broke even.

I take that back. Instead of apologizing, what my BF did was spend the day tracking down a copy of a $3000 animation program for me. So yeah. Good day! ;P

Suggestion: focus more on what you are doing to make your life awesome, and less on worrying about what other people are or aren't doing for you or to you.

Because what you do is what is within your own control, and not what others do. And if you try to think you can control what others do, then if you succeed you become a manipulator, and if you fail then you become frustrated and resentful.

I'm making my life awesome by listening to dubstep and getting smooched on by my pupper and possibly having a lunch date later. Y'ALL JEALZ.

Today is the three-hundred and fifth one of January 2012

But would it be possible to have negative dates, say, of next January?

Alright, today is the minus three-hundred and twenty-sixth of January 2014

"Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly"

It is one of the hundred answers to the fugitive perversion of modern "force" that the promptest and boldest agencies are also the most fragile or full of sensibility. The swiftest things are the softest things. A bird is active, because a bird is soft. A stone is helpless, because a stone is hard. The stone must by its own nature go downwards, because hardness is weakness. The bird can of its nature go upwards, because fragility is force. In perfect force there is a kind of frivolity, an airiness that can maintain itself in the air. Modern investigators of miraculous history have solemnly admitted that a characteristic of the great saints is their power of "levitation." They might go further; a characteristic of the great saints is their power of levity. Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly. ....The tattered cloak of the beggar will bear him up like the rayed plumes of the angels. But the kings in their heavy gold and the proud in their robes of purple will all of their nature sink downwards, for pride cannot rise to levity or levitation. Pride is the downward drag of all things into an easy solemnity. One "settles down" into a sort of selfish seriousness; but one has to rise to a [happy] self-forgetfulness. A man "falls" into a brown study; he reaches up at a blue sky. Seriousness is not a virtue. It would be a heresy, but a much more sensible heresy, to say that seriousness is a vice. It is really a natural trend or lapse into taking one's self gravely, because it is the easiest thing to do. It is much easier to write a good Timesleading article than a good joke in Punch. For solemnity flows out of men naturally; but laughter is a leap. It is easy to be heavy: hard to be light. Satan fell by the force of gravity.

"Seriousness is not a virtue. It would be a heresy, but a much more sensible heresy, to say that seriousness is a vice."

Dreams are a hot air balloon. You can have the balloon, you can have all the hot air, but until you toss the sandbags that are weighing you down over the side of the balloon, you will never get to fly.

People who are dream-killers are sandbags. They are the people who pride themselves on being sensible and "grounded". Of course they are grounded, and you will be too as long as you allow them to be attached to your balloon. With these dream-killers weighing you down, you are simply full of hot air, or gas, but your dreams will never get off the ground.

For dreams to get off the ground you need to be lighter than air, like Chesterton's angels. Dream-killers don't want you to get off the ground, don't want your dreams to take flight.

Another aphorism is that "misery loves company". This is company that a dreamer cannot afford to keep.

"If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme"

People that say "this is the first day of the rest of my life" usually have many, many first days, and they're wrong about it each and every time.

Sorry, but that's the tooth.

Well, this common platitude is rather like the saying "tomorrow never comes".

As you imply, this sentence usually ends up in the same scrap-pile with New Year's Resolutions and failed diets. So, what can make a difference?

What makes the quantum leap difference is what Tony Robbins calls the "Breakthrough": when you break through from half-hearted doomed resolutions into transformation to success. And what Robbins says makes the most difference in reaching breakthroughs is when you change you SHOULDS into MUSTS. When you reach the limit and say "No more!", and do what you really know you must do to achieve your goals.

Tony Robbins suggest these moments are usually when your dog dies.
