Can someone tell me WTF a "charisma check" is? Or have i just failed it by asking?

This is a role-playing thing.  You have a Charisma score.  You roll a twenty-sided die to check against it.  If you fail, the imaginary person in someone's head doesn't like the imaginary person in your head.  Which is kind of like real life.  Except for the die.

Cheers - though the whole process seems a bit geeky, still, now I can finally have all my match questions answered, with none skipped ( what was I said about it being "geeky"? )

Lol.. it's sad that I know this. But it seems so do a lot of other users. We can be sad together!

There is nothing sad about this.  Be proud of who you are and what you've done, for it's your experiences that've made you the person you are today.

That all being said, you've gotta be a total loser to admit you know what a Charisma Check is on a dating site forum. ;)

By the way, I checked the third option 'cause my lucky dice were stolen by some crazy kid with a harelip who kept going on about how his diety (the God of Pestilence) was going to give us all clamidia and make us sorry we were ever born.  We ended up killing him and taking all his gear which is when he stole my dice.

Every day of my life.

... wait this is supposed to be a DnD thing?

I know of it through D & D and find it totally appropriate on this site.

Never saw it as a question though *chuckles*

Wait, is this a second edition question?  Get with the times.

It's a stupid question.  Is it trying to see if you know D&D, or if you have poor charisma, or...?  It's among the worst matching questions IMO.

I don't think you need to be a loser to know what a Charisma Check is..  But there's a pretty good chance you had to have failed a Charisma Check at least once to know what a Charisma Check is.. =P

Hey! Some of us love guys who know what a charisma check is!

By the way, my criticism of the question wasn't that only losers (or even only people who've played D&D-- long ago I did some, and I've played the occasional RPG since-- some would consider them synonymous, but I wouldn't) would know what a charisma check was.

But there's already (I think) a question about whether one has played D&D, and if the question relates to one's charisma instead, it should simply ask, "Do you consider yourself a charismatic person?"

I don't see the point in the question as it's structured.

I think you should take it for its whimsical nature, as the sort of question that is measuring your geekiness and your whimsy.  Obviously you're looking for someone who doesn't like this question, whereas I'd be looking for someone who went "=P" or "=D" at this question.

Hey, there's questions about football and maths and science and art and clothing and stuff, so what's the difference...

Is this like some sort of pick up line?

"Want to go out with me?"

"I don't know.  Roll your twenty sided die."

"I failed the charisma check, so does that mean no?"
