Has about else downloaded the new iPhone App?  What do you think of it? Love it or hate? Any suggestions on what should be added to it?

I really like it!

I've noticed a couple of bugs:

  1. The text-input fields (like in the messages section) don't auto-capitalise the words are the beginning of each sentence
  2. The 'improve matches' section scrolling gets laggy after you've answered a succession of questions
And I'd like to see:
  1. Quickmatch
  2. The ability to edit your profile in-app

I'd like an android app, too.  OKC loads incredibly slowly on my phone, no matter which browser I'm using, and even when it's the trimmed-down mobile site.

I like it overall (btw, its also a good marketing tool since that's how I found out about the site). It continues to crash when I try to use the Messages tab.

I can't even get it to log in. It just gives me a "cannot contact the server" message every time. I tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app to no avail. I'm using a 3G model phone. Has anyone else had this issue and, if so, have you been able to resolve it? Thanks!

Can we get a blackberry app?  Even if it doesn't have the option for IM's....?

I too am having connectivity issues. I'm using a 32 Gb 3Gs over a WPA2 802.11g wifi connection. After entering my credentials and hitting 'Sign In' all I get is a alert window that says

Connectivity Problems

Could not contact the server (failed to parse server reply)

with two button choices of 'Give Up' or 'Try Again'. I hit try again a few times with no change in behaviour then give up. So far not the greatest app I've installed on my phone.

capitalfellow: That's exactly the problem I experienced. I tried connecting over Wi-Fi and AT&T Edge and got the same result. I submitted a bug to OkCupid so I'll post here if they respond with anything. Good to know I'm not the only one. Hopefully they'll respond with something soon.

deftpunk47 and capitalfellow: I downloaded the app and used it right away without any problems.  I've connected to the app via my home Wi-Fi and AT&T Edge without any problems.  Hope OkC gets back to you soon, deftpunk47. Definitely post what you hear from them.

The OKC iPhone app is a good start, but the one major problem I noticed is that it won't let you login if your password contains special characters.  I had to remove special characters from my password for it to login. I was getting the connectivity errors too until I changed my password to be all alphanumeric characters. I've since changed it back to my more secure password, and I probably won't use the app until that little problem is fixed.

Just got it working. Would like the in-app editing. I just noticed something I want to change, but can't even find it on the actual website.

I too had to remove all special characters to be able to log in using the iPhone app. Now that I can log in and have updated to the 1.1 version I've found that when I reply to a message in my inbox using the app the recipient receives only a truncated message of only the first sentence or two. That's not only annoying it makes one look like an idiot.

Fix should be sent to apple for approval today.

Will the fix address both allowing special characters in passwords & the truncation?
