Door #3!" ~~~Hold up there sweet
cheeks, let me interject. Let's agree that there was a 1/3 chance
that it was behind each of the doors to start. You picked, and the
probability that it was behind your door is 1/3. The probability
that it was behind one of the other two doors is 2/3 (2 doors, 1/3

between 2 doors. And to put it yet another way,
I would say that if any misperception exists at all it would be
that one would think the player's odds of winning were ever 1 in 3.
No matter which of the 3 doors the player picks at the beginning of
the game, there are either 1 or 2 wrong doors left.

- my odds are better if I now switch doors
2. No - my odds are better if I keep my current choice 3. It
doesn't matter, the odds are the same either way 4. I just like to

there are two doors remaining, one empty and one with the prize.

three doors, just not quite so
extreme.i_found_3_quid's argument is almost perfect, except that
(a) the probability that there's a game show host behind the other
unopened door drops all the way to 1/3, because the 2/3 probability
that you picked a game show host the first time around is still
2/3

game show host, knows what is behind
the doors and now has to open one of the two remaining doors, and
the door he opens must have a goat behind it. If both remaining
doors have goats behind them, he chooses one ... Imagine that you chose Door 1 and the host opens
Door 3, which has a goat.

Each time you choose one of the three doors, the probability is 2/3
that there's a game show host behind it, but if you change your
guess to the other unopenned door after the host reveals one of the
game show doors, the probability of there being a game show host
behind it drops to 1/2.

Three doors, Door 1, 2, and 3.Say you pick 1.That means there's a
33% chance the prize is behind 1 and a 66% chance it's behind 2
& 3.Take away door 2.Still a 33% chance it's behind 1... but a
66% chance it's behind 3.

answer is to switch doors. Before he opens the door you have a
33.33% chance of winning the non-booby prize.And there's a 66.66%
chance that the non-booby prize is in one of the other two doors.
When you choose to switch, it's as if your 33.33% chance has
changed to 66.
