This
renewed rock and roll style thumbed its nose at convention, and
gave the finger to its slower, politically correct forefathers. New
styles of rock were popping up everywhere. Janise Joplin fused
rock, blues, and earthy soul together in such a powerful and

In my opinion Rock music form the 60's and 70's is the best written
and best sounding rock music ever. Songs like "What Is Life" by
Gorge Harrison and "(Don't Fear)The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult are
Timeless classic that in my opinion are as good or better then some
of the most resent rock music.

This one happens to be the classic rock station that
actually plays classic rock. Not the station that plays only stuff
from the late 70's 80's and early 90's. That's crap. This station
plays stuff from the late 50's 60's and 70's.

The rock I grew
up listening to was rock that itself grew up on the music of the
70's...a grubby, confusing, flashy, largely substance-free (by
which I mean the intangible kind of substance, as for physical
substances they were all on coke in the 70's to the best of my
understanding) stew from

Actuall I reckon the late 60's - early 70'S have the edge. All that
West Coast Acid Rock and it was the grass & LSD not the coke
that was the hallmark of that era.

On the
plus side however, the 70's did give us some of the best
progressive rock ever & the birth of punk, some great Marvel
Comic runs & National Lampoon, and uh... hmm.. that's all I can
come up with at the moment. A few good movies, I guess. And... hey!
The 70's are long gone now!

All of the progressive rock of the early 70's
was sending people to sleep at their concerts ...literally. Punk
rock gave music the kick up the ass that it needed.
