than the newer music groups. I also like Empty Hats. The types of

to such music.
One word of warning, I'm not into
mainstream music. It's cool if you do and I'm no snob. When I hear
some event playing "80's" music, I usually assume it's the bad 80's
music I was avoiding back in the 80's (funny that in the 90's, 80's
music was the good stuff but in this decade, its all the radio

puts me right in
the middle of the greatest decade ever for movies and music ever. I
have a theory on myself proclaimed "80's kid" status. If you're
born 75 - 84 you are most likely an 80's kid. 85 can go either way
but 85+ your mostly likely a 90's kid. 90's kid listen to or have
liked emo music.

the 80's give them a proper
perspective to make these dumb surveys. There was so much happening
with music in the 80's - everything from punk to rap to electronic
pop to hair metal. A lot of it was shitty. A lot of it was great.
It is this musical diversity that I think of when I think of 80's

What genre of music do
you most often listen to? 80's, new wave, ebm. What genre of music
will you never, ever, ever listen to? voluntarily, most r&b,
gangster rap, any "bitches and ho's" type shit. country music post
1990.

of these move my emotions quite as dramatically as
a deleriously sappy ballad from the 80's. Yeah, I get it: they have
a paucity of musical talent or ingenuity. Still, those damned power
chords hook me. I love the 80's bridge; you know, the three or four
huge chords that lead into a super sacharrine

I was listening
to old, old Cure today and thinking that 80's music in general is
underrated. There were some incredible experimental things going on
in music, and certainly you can see the structure perfected in 80's
pop music in most pop music today.

product of the 80's... But I know my fair share of
the 90's and 00's as well. I think the 80's was fairly interesting,
though, because it really marked the point where music seriously
diverged into niches. Sure, there was R&B, Pop and then Disco
and Punk in the 70's, but in the 80's, you saw the

Because we call that 80's music instead of oldies. Seriously...
They're not called "oldies" only because they are older music.
That's just what that age bracket who listened to it started
calling it due to the drastic difference to the 80's music which
was some weird stuff.

"Goth" music hardly ever
makes it on the radio anymore, there were some bands that made the
top 10 in the 80's but nowadays it would never be aired, except
maybe for The 80's night on a few radio stations.

now the 80's, don't get me
started. virtually not a single good song came out of the
80's. if some lyrics happened to be good, the music
wasn't. i've blocked out the 80's entirely for many reasons,
music being one of them.

In the '80's,
with the likes of Skinny Puppy and Einsturzende Neubauten,
Industrial music was pretty distinguishable as its own subcategory:
post-modernish stuff in the whole realm of '80's synthpop. It
often involved making music by banging on scrap metal from the
junkyard (E.

The 80's!!!!! I wonder if 1880's was just as rad as the
1980's. Anyone will agree the best things to ever come into
anyone's life was in the 80's. Music, movies, cartoons, life!
