believe when I come
across someone who does not like the music of the 80s. It was such
a diversified period of music. Much of the styles from then can be
heard in many of the music artists of today. I had many
compilations from Spain and Germany and discovered even more 80s
artists I did not know.

a game of 80s music where you listen to a
bit of the song and then identify the song and artist. Anyone know
of such a game? Sometimes I wonder if our taste in music is often
really influenced by the music that we first fall in love with.
What is your favorite cheesey music? 80? 70s? 80s hair bands?

out of music videos (Michael
Jackson's Beat It), and the movie has some really great shots and
music video-esque ... cheesy 80s
moments brought to you by me, Wimz, promoting 80s nostalgia

however, could have stayed back in the 80s, thanks.

I don't remember his music well. I was a Ziggy Stardust fan
for a long time in the 70s. I tried to relive the feeling in the
80s with BauHaus and the like. It didn't work for me though. My
Glam for the 80s was MeatPuppets.

I've always been a music nut, and I actually still listen to the
music I liked in my late teens and early 20s. I first saw Richard
Thompson in 1981, and I last saw him a year or so ago. I still
listen to early 80s Bowie. I didn't like huge amounts of 80s music,
anyway, so don't have those

have everything to do with the writings,
and very little to do, if at all, any music.(I think, that, not
only being a goth snce the mid 80s, staffing and running science
fiction conventions since the late 80s - the book and author ones,
includig many Worldcons, would mean I know what I'm talking.

I'm stuck in the 80s & 90s (mostly genres listed
above), & most the newer bands i like are heavily influenced by
80s bands... but 80s bands were heavily influenced ... the variety is gone,
plus the musical talent is very lacking. In the 60s &

musicians, and the people in general seem to have lost touch with
what good music was. I'll probably be crucified for this, but the
last time music was actually good was back in the 80s, when the
aforementioned synth and guitar solos were the in thing. You can
actually dance to 80s music

Traditional Goths - are made of the old school, listen to
punk, guitar based goth music and 80s music. Frequently complain
about the new wave music. They have the traditional look of the
80s.

made better music)what
falconsbane doesn't explain very well is that both bands put out
these flashy, self-absorbed albums years after the genre had
already passed in order to 'cash' in. yes, NWOBHM started in the
mid to late 70s and pretty much ended in the very early 80s. by the
early 80s, thrash
