Every October (Breast Cancer Awareness
Month) I do two things--- one for the past and one for the present.
I participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk in support of a cure
for breast cancer.
I am
a breast cancer survivor and want to help promote awareness for all
my friends, family and women.

"Awareness" for breast cancer. I understand that it's one of the
leading forms of cancer in women, so I guess it's important to be
aware. However, isn't it hypocritical that there isn't a month of
awareness for the male counterpart? I mean, frankly, men are dying
too, and prostate cancer's one

neglected, we wouldn't see the massive campaign of raising
awareness for breast cancer screenings. Men have no equivalent of
the pink ribbon campaign for penile or prostate cancers, and yet
feminists have the audacity to attack the (clearly successful)
awareness campaigns as profiteering or a sham.

funds to support vague "awareness", which usually means
funneling it back into the company that it came from. It's really
just profiteering that pretends to be charitable. In other words,
the reason that more dollars go toward breast cancer awareness than
prostate cancer awareness is precisely that

My current personal favorite is breast cancer
"awareness". Anyone not aware breast cancer exists? Not a cent of
all the pink ribbons goes to treatment research. It goes
toward "awareness".
