the site disallowed CSS in journals i made 800 posts
with lurid pictures and tons of insane formatting and incidentally
started teaching myself CSSi got a lot of attention for my unique
journal but then one day okcupid deleted all the cool formatting
and prevented any inline CSS from getting

CSS
should stop expecting browsers to render their standards compliant
code the same. Rather than rewarding developers who make standards
compliant software I'm going to continue to reward developers who
are too lazy to make a browser that renders a page as it was
intended by the standardized CSS
