I'm lost lol I brought up Hafiz now I am sorry i did. All I know if that Rumi and Hafiz were both Sufi and both poets and I have books of poems by both. ... I just know that of two of them I intuitively prefered Hafiz'z poetry.

try reading some Sufi poetry - like Rumi and Hafiz. That is where I found the universal truths within islam that I needed. I don't seen how anyone reading them could deny the wisdom and beauty and love and life-affirming qualities of these poets. One of my favorite quotes ever [I think from hafiz?

Arsaces: Hafiz was not acting contrary to Islam. His writings may not have pleased the فقهاء very much, but he was definitely a Muslim, and a large number of his poems are expressions of Islamic thought. Hafiz, like Rumi and Rabi'a al-Adawiyah, was Sufi.
