with Ursula Le Guin as a fifteen ... rise of female world leaders is no
coincidence; as the world grows smaller and
cooperation/conciliation becomes more crucial to our survival the
cost/benefit ratio of a 'conquering and pillaging' versus 'sharing
and sustaining' model become less and less attractive.

2008 titled, "Staying Awake" would beg to differ with you,
Bookreviewer. She says, "But I also want to question the
assumption--whether gloomy or faintly gloating--that books are on
the way out. It's just that not all that many people ever did

I agree that Lewis' Space Trilogy is great. John
Carter of Mars is great. Dune is great. Ender's Game is also great.
My favorite book is The Dispossessed by Le Guin; it's definitely a
must read for any science majors.
