Muay Thai and Kyokushikai karate are great examples.  Both are full-contact arts.  Muay Thai allows kicks to the head, elbows and knees.

Also the only reason that BJJ and muay thai dominate is because of their prevalence in ring sports like UFC/Pride where 1) the rules are written to favor them 2) the fighters are picked because of them 3) each guy is a frickin' monster who can take a beating.

the same thing holds for muay thai. it is limited by its competition rules. you kick or hit a guy in a way he isn't familiar with, he isn't going to know how to react. if you knock a muay thai fighter down, he's fucked.

Wow awesome gracex you do Muay Thai? I hear though that that fighting style isn't ideal in tournaments where you're inside of a ring because it needs alot of room to be effective. But Tony Jaa is an EXCELENT Muay Thai practioner!
