is because of their prevalence in ring sports like UFC/Pride where
1) the rules are written to favor them 2) the fighters are picked
because of them 3) each guy is a frickin' monster who can take a
beating.

you kick or hit a guy in a way he isn't familiar with, he isn't
going to know how to react. if you knock a muay thai fighter down,
he's fucked.

Wow awesome gracex you do Muay Thai? I hear though that that
fighting style isn't ideal in tournaments where you're inside of a
ring because it needs alot of room to be effective. But Tony
Jaa is an EXCELENT Muay Thai practioner!
