Philip K. Dick: If you want to know what the movies "Total Recall" and "The Minority Report" should have been about, read "I can remember it for you wholesale" and "The Minority Report". However, "Blade Runner" is much better than Dick's "Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep".

does apparently have some redeeming theories from my quick overview of his theories, and some of them seem to intersect with one of my favorite authors, Philip K, Dick, particulary as relates to the nature of reality and non-reality. I just find Phil Dick much easier to read and grasp.

bit of Philip K. Dick.Speaking of Dick, I think he is a good example of the kind of creativity that almost needed drugs to exist.  I'm sure he was creative in his own right, and I'm sure other non-druggies are creative in their own right, but I haven't seen anything close to Dick-level writing,
