MM were fun for a while, when rock was dominated by more serious stuff, grunge and post grunge and they offered a fun countepoint, but they/he didn't know how to re-invent themselves, and when you keep that thing going on for too long it goes from exciting to ridiculous and gets tired really fast.

I really can't enumerate the ways that post-grunge and nu-metal are terrible. I mean, how can you sit there and listen to grunge and think "You know what this needs? Crisper production values". That was the goddamn point of grunge.
