You're not selling out, as you know, the best
users of english are generally scottish anyways. ;-)dreich and uist
are possibly loan words from gaelic or scots to english anyways,
but i'm sure they'd be in any UK based dictionary.

As far as I know, it's Gaelic for 'Scottish'.My Gaelic's a bit
rusty, though, having not spoken or read it since I was about 5.

Gaelic, there is Irish Gaelic, Welsh Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic,
and a few others, they are similar but do have variations, much
like Mexican spanish and spanish spanish.Irish is NOT a language,
it is a nationality. Gaelic is the language you speak of. Their

turn anglicised to Whelan. My own surname is a Scottish corruption
of the anglicisation of the modernisation of the Middle Irish
name.So yeah, I could have just said Irish.Also Scottish, English
and Canadian.
