I can't speak for Star Trek books or movies as I've never read them, and while I've probably see every episode of Next Generation, and maybe all the movies, i don't really remember them. I'm more of the fantasy genre than the Science Fiction. I take that back I did read one Star Trek book.

Trek, at least, managed to be somewhat intelligent, sometimes; The Next Generation is the gold standard, of course, but Deep Space Nine ... It's harder for me to go back to Star Trek now though...
