some tae kwon do when i was a kid. i think
i had one fight where i kept some guy at bay by doing a bunch of
round house kicks but that was one time. since then i lost my
ability to kick and tae kwon do, by the way doesnt teach you low
kicks. thats a muay thai or kick boxing thing. in tae kwon do

If you've been learning,
for example, tae-kwon-do, then you'd be a lot more efficient
streetfighter...It's just that there are too many limitations in
ANY of the schools, and in contackt tae-kwon-do too.
Why people like capoeira ?
I like capoeira because it keeps me fit and at the same time it
doesn't kick my ass like tae kwon do. It's the perfect combination
between fun (dance) and work (the effort). However, it's kinda far
from my place (I moved recently) and I'll probably start taking tae
kwon do classes again.

I would start with Tae Kwon Do regardless of whether you're really
focused on weapons training or not. Tae Kwon Do (The Way of the
Fist and Foot) is all about self defense and how to use your
opponent's momentum against them.
