12th century Christianity (something I honestly didn’t know until today), but I always found it quite Taoist. If the Tao Te Ching is a little too heavy for you, I highly recommend The Tao of Pooh or The Te of Piglet, by Benjamin Hoff. I picked both up in high school, prior to being just a teacher.
