Russian Lit professor knows what she's doing though, and built up to Tolstoy through Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol, and Dostoevsky. ... I think this was more Dostoevsky's talent than Tolstoy's so far though, in that I think Tolstoy might have actually wanted the soap opera affect to be part of the book
