After watching the Torchwood miniseries,
I felt like it was kind of a cheap payoff. It pulled the
cliched punches with the major cast death and the prerequisite
dramatic twist. But Torchwood was always just some kind of
trashy Angel rip-off to me.

nostalgia aside the "classic" pre-Davies Doctor Who doesn't work
for me; for me the Whoniverse (including the much underappreciated
Torchwood) revolves around Davies.
