It's from "Leaves of Grass" by Walt Whitman -- "Dona Nobis Pacem" is a setting of parts of the Latin Mass, parts of Leaves of Grass and Dirge for Two Veterans by Whitman, a few Bible quotes, and a speech by a Quaker MP against the Crimean War.

 And like I said, I blame Walt Whitman. Song of Myself is an excellent example of an art form being popularized for public use. After Whitman, it became far more common to disregard any rules, and instead write under the premise that the individual is of absolute importance, and nothing else
