a bit heavy on exposition (so much anime is) it validates animation as being a very real and important form of cinematic art. ... Live action brings a quality of belief, or disbelief as it were, that animation never brings into the picture. With animation, it just "is".

animation is in such a sad sack of a state, that it has to get distribution rights to Ghibli's stuff just to make any headway. Last time I saw Disney do anything worth a damn with traditional animation was Lilo & Stitch. As far as I know the studio doesn't even do that style of animation
