wars only want to be treated as human beings and not as monsters.
We are not heroes, we just had to do the job that we were ordered
to do. Sorry if this offends anyone. These are my feelings and
ramblings of this combat vet that has lost too

as the human heart coming to terms with what it has experienced,
there are many reasons for these wounds suffered by our veterans.

My father was a combat
vet. I am a Viet Nam Era veteran myself. I have enormous respect

and operations in Colombia, but nothing heavy. Nothing like whats

start with the whole "one vet to another" crap. At this stage of
the game you're going to start claiming to be a fellow vet? ... I look forward to your valor
and martial skill on the field of combat.

And sometimes the
illness lets us communicate more effectively with the Vet because
in a very real sense, even if we personally haven't been in combat,
we've survived traumas that are similar. PTSD isn't just a

from talking and gesticulating
widely while holding a tanto bladed combat knife (I was actually
sober at the time too). I stabbed myself during a gesture and
almost went through my hand. I cracked up, then put three stitches
in it. (Good thing about working in a vet clinic - free medical
supplies.

combat. THe
majority find a way to do it, but every war has had large numbers
of exceptions. In a society that lives in the illusion of peace and
refuses to accept any behavior that ruins the illusion those that
can't switch back get punished. It ain't right it's just the way it
is, with luck a vet
