A lot of people say that they like to hang out at "dive bars." It's
fun to speculate as to why they think it's necessary to specify
that the bars they drink at are dives. Is it because dives are out
of the way, skeevy and low key?

Here's why I think we prefer dive bars - they seem like "adventure"
- I didn't realize this until I went to burning man - and I got
that little feeling that I used to get in dive bars - that anything

I like dive bars, generally. The rampant alcoholism and blatant
disregard for no smoking policies and social sensibilities makes me
genuinely happy. What I don't like are the drunken hookers you find
