My favorite movies are mostly horror films from 1930 until approximately 1990. I really don't like modern films that much for the reason I find them rehashed ideas, bad acting and no soul. I own over 400 horror films on dvd in case you want to know where I stand with my love for horror films.

"Shaun of the Dead" is hardly a horror film. It's a parody on
horror films, and a good one at that. True horror films -- ones
where dead people and monsters climb up through the floorboards and
tear people to pieced with axes and teeth -- have very little value
to me.
Horror Flicks
Horror films these days seem to be much more sensationalist and
light on plot than they used to be (although The Texas Chainsaw
Massacre is a pretty good counterexample).I loved a lot of 1980s
horror when I was growing up, particularly all the weird stuff that
Cronenberg came out with.

Yeah, I'm with Chibiusa on the Korean Horror front. It's becoming a
real hotbed for very creative cinema as a whole, but their take on
the typical horror movie has started to change the genre. You

Horror films can be the worst shit films too if they're just not
scary. I find all horror films scary, even the predictable
Chick flicks and gay guys: Isn't that like peanut butter and chocolate?
My boy likes dreadful B movies and tacky zombie films (amongst
others) and I like musicals and kids' films (amongst others). We
compromise by watching films we can both enjoy: Pixar films, Asian
horror films, trashy horror/thrillers.
Why don't men like horror films?
I personally LOOOOVE Horror films! But I DETEST all those cheesy,
gory, "pulp horror" films like Night Of The Living Dead, etc.
Horror is a genre where there's a LOT of bad and not much good. A
good example of the kind of horror movies that I like is The
Entity; which most women hate cuz it actually

I am a big fan of what I consider to be great horror films -
Psycho, The Birds, The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, Dawn of the Dead,
Battle Royale, Ju-On, and others.... my only gripe with modern
horror films (the ones we would be going to see in theatres) is the
new trend of gore-porn horror.
