Tchaikovsky 4th and 5th symphonies, and if you want to get away
from the pretty route, try out the Shostakovich 4th Symphony (it
was suppressed by the Soviets for over 20 years, so you know it's
good). Shostakovich 5th and 7th Symphonies are good and easy
to digest.
