And the other day when I turned on the sprinklers in the yard, I saw a beautiful white and black woodpecker climbing up the tree, then climbing down the tree to catch the spray of water for a few seconds, then climbing back up to dry bark and pecking at the tree.

most desirable ones are at the top of the tree, where they are the most difficult to reach. Most men won't try for them, because climbing the tree all the way to the top takes a lot of effort and is rather scary. Most men will just scrounge on the ground under the tree, where the rotten apples lie.

Why is it that there are only fat, ugly, old guys on here?

Comment by AndyBurton

OakandAcorn is okcupid's Iowa user who makes me happy "knot" to have a woman climbing on my "a man is tree" self because with my root unplanted I can run away as fast as I can. She has a wonderful self and without her climbing my tree I can keep my root right here with me.

First date? Try this:

Comment by MakaiDenka

I'd make sure the date was dressed for tree climbing. Nice clothes or clothes that it is hard to climb wouldn't make for a happy tree climbing.

Comment by Phil_Boggild

For all those of you who think Bear Grylls is a fake..

Comment by Daevhar01

many of you fine folks has ever tried rockclimbing or anything climbing without climbing gear/ropes in the wild, miles from a hospital.I have, both alone and with someone. Knowing that you hold your own life in your hands by your grip on the next rock or tree root, kind of gives you a healthy fear

Thread for old farts and the OKC rejects that hate them (PART TWO)

Skiing or climbing is safe by comparison. There are always people looking for a Darwinian experience, several years ago I was skiing in Wrightwood and watched a skier go off a large snowboarder jump and land on his neck; slightly more Darwinian than pulling a bono and hitting a tree.
