list them, don't start with home alone and watching TV. In fact, don't say that at all. Instead you can just say watching TV, or chilling at home. Being alone is already implied, mentioning it makes it seem sadder than it really is. No one doesn't spend a few Friday nights at home alone watching TV!

I am not a person who ever only does one thing at any one time, so while the TV is on, I may well be reading or doing stuff on the internet and watching stuff on the TV at the same time, does that then count as doing something more worthwhile ? I really don't see whats wrong with watching TV, sorry.

Reading is also solitary, whereas TV can be something you do with friends or partner.It also depends on what is meant by "TV".  I usually have my TV set to a music channel most of the time. And then I have a lot of DVDs and video games. Do those count as watching TV as well?
