a trip to chimney bluffs state park...

The following is a conversation I had with triangle_girl on the way to Chimney Bluffs State Park this morning:

TG: I brought crudités and peanut butter.
Me: What?
TG: Crudités.
Me: What exactly are Crudités?
TG: Cut up vegetables.
Me: Oh, you mean like carrot sticks and celery?
TG: No. My carrots were left over from last week. They were pretty flacid. So I brought peppers instead.
Me: Cut up peppers and peanut butter?
TG: Yeah.
Me: Oh.
TG: Did you remember sunscreen?
Me: Yeah...

Later...

TG: Maybe there is a reason people use carrots and celery. I don't think peppers and peanut butter work well together.
Me: Really? I'm shocked! I think I might blog this.
TG: I'll beat you with a flacid carrot.

Other thoughts about my trip to Chimney Bluffs State Park (and really bad images that support them, I *clearly* wasn't meant to be a photographer):
  • Upstate NY is Really Pretty.
  • Nadia has a really long tongue.
  • I like puppies.

An image of XeroNein My father is obsessed with Bear Mountain State Park. Have you been there?

XeroNein commented on

An image of nahgems I haven't been to Bear Mountain. Bear Mountain State Park is four and a half hours away from my house - and there are several state parks that are significantly closer...

An image of XeroNein That really doesn't look like NY state. Where is that? Those rocks in the second photo look Southwesternish.

An image of nahgems sand, not rocks.

An image of XeroNein sand?!

An image of nahgems Sand/Dirt. Chimney Bluffs State Park is on Lake Onterio in Wolcott, NY: "Land and water clash at Chimney Bluffs, sculpting the most dramatic landscape on the Lake Ontario shore. You can experience massive earthen spires from above or along the lakeshore on nature trails."

Should I be embarrassed that I grew up 15 minutes from that park & have never been to it?
