My self-summary
I'm a car guy. The mechanicals, the engineering, but mostly racing; I have had a love affair with all forms of motorsports my entire life. Beyond cars, my life includes music, film (both good and bad), and of course, school and work.

My name isn't actually Alex. If you want to know me, then send me a message and get to know me. That's why we are here.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been dragging out my college career for a while; I've always subscribed to the thought that school has interfered with my education, and is more of a necessary evil than anything. I work two part-time jobs to pay the bills, but my real passion (and career path) is in racing. I've been driving racecars for 13 years now, and will continue doing so until the day I die.
I’m really good at
Knowing exactly what I want in life. I am really good at fixing and modifying cars, but I'm excellent at driving them to their limits. I'm also a musician, though admittedly I've been ignoring that part of my life lately.

What else...I'm really good at not realizing that I've gotten grease on my face at work, and going through my entire day without anyone telling me.

I'm really good at procrastinating, though I've been making a conscious effort lately to become worse at it.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hair. Either it's perfect and I look really put together, or it's a bit more mad-scientisty. Sometimes when I wake up, my hair is in full super-saiyan mode.

I'm not quite sure if props will be given or not if you get that reference...probably not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite books include Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Good Omens, and The Art of Racing in the Rain (not quite as boring as technical as it sounds).

My favorite movie is The Blues Brothers. Beyond that, I like far too many to mention. Comedies, action, horror, drama, and everything in between. I'll even do a romantic comedy, if the situation is right (my favorite is Two Week's Notice). I think I may like bad movies even more than I like good ones. If you are familiar with Mystery Science 3000 or Rifftrax, we could be very good friends.

I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but shows I enjoy are Top Gear, Dr. Who, and the re-vamp of Battlestar Galactica.

I won't say I like EVERY kind of music, but I like quite a bit. Rock, hip hop, R&B, oldies, alternative, blues, EDM, dubstep,'s all good.

I have requirements on the number of legs my food possessed before it was murdered for my dietary enjoyment. Two is a good number, as is four. Anything else gets iffy. I usually try to eat healthily, but I am also not afraid to indulge. For instance, I am eating bacon pancakes while I'm writing this, and feeling absolutely no remorse.
The six things I could never do without
-A car: Freedom to go wherever you want, and an expression of my creativity. A car is my paintbrush.
-A MANUAL transmission to go with that car: Autos can sod off.
-Music: A stereo with decent bass response is a must. I like being able to feel my music while I hear it.
-My family: They have always been here for me and supported what I want to do, and I will always be there for them. I love my family.
-Racetracks: Because speeding tickets aren't so much fun. A racetrack is my canvas.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My career. Being a professional driver isn't exactly a cake walk. Driving cars around a track is really just an excuse for the BUSINESS of racing, which is what the career actually entails; marketing, ROI, and people. At this stage in my life, everything else is secondary.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. When I'm off work, I like to go out with friend(s) and get a few beers. Or just one, as we tend to gravitate toward the fancy imported ales that nobody has ever heard of with ridiculously high alchohol content. One is good.

Or, I'll stay in. I'm pretty busy, so it's nice to relax for a while and not worry about life. Movies, browsing the vast expanse of the internet, maybe an hour or two of absolutely nothing.

If it's a warm summer night, I'll go on an adventure. There are lots of beautiful mountain roads close by, and there is nothing I love more than exploring them.

*I just looked at my own profile, and apparently I'm "Less Adventurous." So evidently this is a lie, I don't actually like going on adventures :/ At least I know now, right?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I worry that I'm not actually conscious.
