My self-summary
As a guy rapidly approaching his 30's who's pretty much got all his ducks in a row and is all but settled down, being single is not always such a nice feeling. I hope to take advantage of any and all opportunities to meet someone who rocks my world more than anything else. Whether this happens via some serendipitous interactions among Internet strangers or somewhere out in the wild matters very little to me!
What I’m doing with my life
Practicing, performing, writing, teaching, and digging the hell out of what I do. I play sax and write/arrange horn parts for a funk/soul band (original music). I'm also a private saxophone instructor for several large school districts and am in the process of amassing my mega studio, muahahaha!! In other words, life for me consists of many late nights, early mornings, driving all over the place, consuming copious amounts of Red Bull, and collecting dead presidents.

I bought a house back in June so I've been playing around a lot with furniture, new appliances, and mowing yards and shit. I have to admit that all the grown ass man stuff is daunting, but then again I feel like I'm one of the few people who have turned what most would consider a hobby into a rewarding career/lifestyle, which is pretty bad ass.
I’m really good at
Answering a question with another question, guessing on quantities of things when cooking, the lost art of driving a manual.
The first things people usually notice about me
My thin build and the deceptively serious look on my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Animal Farm, The Bad Place, Watchers, Robert Frost poems, Harry Potter (GoF), and God Is Not Great.

Lost in Translation, Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, The Shawshank Redemption, or anything by the Cohen Bros, Spielberg, Tarantino, or Aronofsky.

Cosmos, The Newsroom, Colbert Report, Mythbusters, Top Gear, and Deadliest Catch. I'm really not the biggest consumer of tv shows. The Internet captures a much greater portion of my time.

Shostakovich's 5th Symphony recorded by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is absolutely incredible and trumps just about anything else I could list here, but Sigur Ros and Death Cab are both very close to my heart. Beyond that, my musical tastes run the gamut of things not including bro country, screamy stuff, or most new rap.

Mahi-mahi, grilled and lightly seasoned, drizzled with freshly squeezed lemon and served over a bed of wild rice. Add a bottle of two-year-old Sauvignon blanc. Seriously though, I'll eat just about anything. No mayonnaise though! Nope nope nope can't handle it.
The six things I could never do without
tonal harmony
positive vibes from friends and family
new discoveries
a sense of accomplishment
I spend a lot of time thinking about
faster-than-light travel, the flawed human condition, a varied mix of social/cultural/political narratives, groovy horn parts.

My inner monologue can be deafening.
On a typical Friday night I am
probably playing at a fine music venue near you, but I like to keep up with new movies that are showing on the occasional night off. A game of Settlers of Catan and a good IPA is never off the table!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am incapable of growing a beard, or any respectable amount of facial hair for that matter. I know some of you live and die by the beard, but genetics clearly had other plans for me.
I’m looking for
  • Straight girls only
  • Ages 20–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
deep down inside, you always wanted someone to dedicate and perform a tender and heartfelt jazz ballad a la John Coltrane circa 1963 to you, because that's something I can handle.

Of course, meeting up and solving the world's problems together over drinks, good food, and a little revelry is always acceptable.
