My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In many ways, I'm the stereotypical Millennial. 28, never married, single (otherwise why the hell would I be here), well-educated college alumnus, lived at home for a spell but eventually found my way into a sustainable and for the most part bullshit-free occupation that I actually enjoy. I'm pretty sure I broke some unwritten rule and bought a house, but I got tired of waiting for the whole relationship/marriage situation to play out, and absolutely nothing was stopping me from burning money on rent every month.

I live for spontaneous nostalgia, the occasional expression that translates itself seamlessly out of my head and through my instrument, the next opportunity to see a bit more of the world, the smell of petrichor after rain, struggle-for-breath belly laughs with friends, and I live for those who matter to me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Practicing, performing, writing, teaching, and digging the hell out of what I do. I play sax and write/arrange horn parts for a funk/soul band (original music). I'm also a private saxophone lesson instructor for several large school districts and am in the process of amassing my mega studio, muahahaha!! In other words, life for me consists of many late nights, early mornings, driving from hither to yon, consuming copious amounts of Red Bull, and collecting dead presidents.

As a recent first time homeowner, I've been playing around a lot with furniture, new appliances, and mowing yards, etc. I have to admit that all the grown ass man stuff is daunting, but then again I feel like I'm one of the few people who have turned what most would consider a hobby into a rewarding career/lifestyle, which is pretty cool.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Answering a question with another question, guessing on quantities of things when cooking, the lost art of driving a manual.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My thin build and the unintentionally serious look on my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Animal Farm, The Bad Place, Watchers, Robert Frost poems, Harry Potter (GoF), and God Is Not Great.

Lost in Translation, Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, The Shawshank Redemption, or anything by the Cohen Bros, Spielberg, Tarantino, or Aronofsky.

Cosmos, The Newsroom, Colbert Report, Mythbusters, Top Gear, and Deadliest Catch. I'm really not the greatest at keeping up with tv shows.

Shostakovich's 5th Symphony recorded by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is absolutely incredible and trumps just about anything else I could list here, but Sigur Ros and Death Cab are both very close to my heart. Beyond that, my musical tastes run the gamut of things not including bro country, screamy stuff, or most new rap.

Mahi-mahi, grilled and lightly seasoned, drizzled with freshly squeezed lemon and served over a bed of wild rice. Add a bottle of two-year-old Sauvignon blanc. Seriously though, I'll eat just about anything. No mayonnaise though! Nope nope nope can't handle it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
tonal harmony
positive vibes from friends and family
new discoveries
a sense of accomplishment
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
faster-than-light travel, the flawed human condition, a varied mix of social/cultural/political narratives, groovy horn lines.

My inner monologue can be deafening.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
probably playing at a fine music venue near you, but I like to keep up with new movies that are showing on the occasional Friday night off. A game of Settlers of Catan and a good IPA is never off the table!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am incapable of growing a beard, or any respectable amount of facial hair for that matter. I know some of you live and die by the beard, but genetics clearly had other plans for me.

deep down, you always wanted someone to dedicate and perform a tender and heartfelt jazz ballad a la John Coltrane circa 1963 to you, because that's something I can handle.

Of course, meeting up and solving all the world's problems together over drinks, good food, and a little revelry is always acceptable.
