My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Recently met someone, not sure where it's going of course but I'm putting the active date search on hiatus for the mo'!

Here we go, pimping myself out like the floozy I am. I'm a hip-hop artist (rapper/producer) and singer. No, not one of THOSE guys, I'm pretty darn alright at it and absolutely love what I do. I generally love life and always appreciate it, the good and the bad, the lighter and darker stuff. Pretty smart, offbeat-edly humorous, unashamedly nerdy. A people person who enjoys some solitude in the mix. There's no such thing as "normal" and we should all explore, discover, and be who we are following our own hearts and minds.

I get pretty fired up when people are assholes. I'm hard into practical philosophy. I have two daughters from a young marriage who I'm super committed to, they are my little family. I'm a vegetarian gym-going runner who also sits back and eats brownies with the best of them. I can be pretty intense and passionate. I'm an avid reader and frequent writer. I love nature in a major way. I swear a lot, often creatively. I have two cats and a snake, having been historically terrified of snakes until about three months ago. I'd still scream like a little school girl or straight pass out if I stumbled upon one in the woods. Real talk. I love and respect myself (have worked hard for it) but am far from an egomaniac. I'm a fan of thrift shopping for fly outfits. Love progressive science. Interior design and design of all sorts. Walking, really love walks. I've gone to the odd sweat lodge ceremony and meditation circle. I've been called "the most random person ever" and love making robot costumes out of cardboard.

I tell strangers way too much about myself. I overuse the words "dude", "awesome", and "stellar". I'm technologically behind the curve and okay with that. Put your Goddamn cellphone away for two minutes.

As far as this site and you are concerned, I'm interested in meeting new people and seeing where it goes whether friendship or further. It's always good to have more mutually beneficial relationships in life. I'm a romantic soul who loves all that but I'm not looking to force anything either. Open to whatevs so long as we vibe.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Squeezing out as much raw experience as I can, following and forging my dreams, helping people live better while I figure this stuff out myself. Have lots of ambition and lofty goals and taking it one step at a time. Working at your local neighborhood Hawaiian-themed yuppie market for 7 years now. Find me stuntin' in the frozen aisle.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Self-reflection and improvement. Vibing with all sorts of people, listening and learning (if it's interesting to me that is), tapping drum patterns on everything at all times, fatherhood, musical composition and performance, lying down on floors of all sorts, playing basketball when no one else is watching or participating otherwise yeah not so much. Adventuring, storytelling, impressions unless you put me on the spot, I'm a bomb-ass chef and baker. Being tall and doing tall things. Doing one-handed cartwheels. Lifting stuff. Making people smile. Making people slightly uncomfortable with my honesty and transparency. Pretending I know Kung Fu. I can karaoke my ass off. Thinking. Kissing of all sorts. Cuddling up. Snoring. I can drink water really fast.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My heroic stature. My energy. My smoldering eyes. My sense of humility? My general kindness is commented on regularly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

This list is not nearly as important as my brain is telling me it is but if you dig the same stuff, awesome. Here we go:

BOOKS - Steinbeck "The Grapes of Wrath", Tom Robbins "Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates" and most of his other novels, Ray Bradbury "Something Wicked This Way Comes", The Harry Potter series, Stephen King's Dark Tower series, pretty much anything written by Osho, Saul Williams "Said the Shotgun to the Head", Herman Hesse "Siddhartha", Kahlil Gibran "The Prophet", Jeff Chang "Can't Stop Wont Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation", Dan O'Brien "The Rights of Autumn", the Walking Dead graphic novels, and many more. I'm an avid reader.

MOVIES: Shaun of the Dead, The Fugitive (Harrison Ford version), anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Finding Forrester, Warrior, How to Train Your Dragon, Blade Trinity, The Sandlot, The Shawshank Redemption, Kung Fu flicks, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Wes Anderson films, Milo and Otis, documentaries of all sorts, sucker for good indie flicks, etc.

SHOWS - I don't watch much TV but Planet Earth, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Adventure Time, the Walking Dead, Being Human, been watching Stephen Fry in America, Flight of the Conchords, Everwood. Breaking Bad is awesome but it bums me out. Again, I don't watch much TV these days, I think I used that card up in my teens.

MUSIC - I can't even do this one. Seriously there's too much. I listen to an absurd variety of music, it's not a cop-out answer. Ask me personally if you REALLY wanna know, chances are I listen to some of what you listen to. Conversation starter: I almost never pick favorites but Incubus is my favorite band and has been for 15 years. Also Radiolab podcasts.

FOOD - Yes. Of all sorts.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Love love love love love
Music
Nature
My seed
Spirituality (No that's not some contrived new agey bullshit. Life is deep.)
Facial hair
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. Very active mind. Life. Love. Purpose. How badly mankind has fucked shit up thus far and what we can do from here to make it better. A lot of random observation. Insane hypothetical shit. Music. Women. Lately been thinking more about nothing. That, turns out, can be really nice too.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Being a gosh darn nice guy (but if you tell me I'm SUCH A NICE GUY I might straight walk away). Usually going HAM in Dad-mode, working on music in Rap-mode, reading in Reading-mode, or I'm out with friends (which sometimes means staying in with friends and just plain chillin'). Whatever sounds enjoyable whether tried and true or something adventurous and new.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
For being so forthright and self-assured I'm also pretty shy. I tend to hold myself to unattainably high standards which can be self-defeating.

I wear Old Spice Swagger because it's called Old Spice Swagger.

I've always wanted to star in a musical.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
The thought "hey I should message this freaking awesome guy" popped into your head just now. It also helps if you're interested in genuine relationships with people no matter the depth or dynamic. You dig me for me, I dig you for you.

Oh yeah. So not searching for a new mother for my kids, my dating life is kept separate from them unless it gets really serious. Just getting that out of the way.
