My self-summary
Ok, I get it, "Laid back guy who likes the outdoors, hanging out with his friends, and trying new things." doesn't help me stand out from the crowd. Here's some of my interesting side:

I've worked for NASA, watched a football game in 0º weather at Lambeau field, flown in a Cobra attack helicopter, seen the aurora borealis while hiking Mendenhall Glacier, and scuba dived (dove?) in the Bermuda triangle. Also, one of those was fake and still on my to-do list ... up to you to figure it out.

The realities of time and money do keep my day-to-day ambitions grounded in a bit more of a "laid back" position, but I'm always looking for my next opportunity ...
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a network and infrastructure engineer with an international container freight logistics company. I realize that's a mouthful, but it means I spend most of my day making sure everything is in place to keep dozens of servers around the world connected and tracking (literal) boatloads of cargo. Recently I've also been pursuing an MBA in the evenings, and volunteering some time at a local animal shelter.

There's not a lot of rhyme or reason to how I spend my downtime. It's whatever happens to sound interesting in the moment, whether it's new card games to try with my friends, rec sports leagues, live music, mountain biking, some bowling or golf, a trip to the firing range (I lean pretty liberal, but I find this to be a lot of fun), trying to teach myself how to cook, or simply tinkering with some new gadget. Most recently, I've been wanting to try geocaching.
I’m really good at
short answer questions
The first things people usually notice about me
Judging by messages I've received on okc, it's my green eyes, sense of humor, or big nose (gee thanks)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Well, my phone is full of 90s/00s rock and alternative music, I'll sit through a James Cameron or Tarantino movie anytime one's on, after getting hooked on Game of Thrones I went and read all ~4500 pages of A Song of Ice and Fire ... twice, and I think that The Daily Show is the best political commentary on TV.

While I do have my favorites, I try not to prejudge things, and to that end I'm always up for checking out something new. My favorite musical discovery of the last year was the band Love Canon, who make bluegrass covers of 80s pop songs. That's about as completely removed from my usual tastes as you can get, but somehow it works for me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to keep my beard scruff in that sweet spot between being clean shaven and looking like I'm 20, and long enough that people start worrying if I'm depressed or considering a career as a ship captain.
On a typical Friday night I am
Ideally, playing Cards Against Humanity with my friends, going to a Squirrels game, or enjoying a pint of Strangeways with some live music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a former Girl Scout

You're an awesome cook

You're in desperate need of tech support.

Deciding, spur of the moment, on a Friday afternoon to grab supplies and go camping for the weekend sounds perfectly normal to you

So does deciding to order pizza and marathon through an entire season of Archer
