My self-summary
I'm a world-traveling, retro-gaming, concert-going, dirt-dancing, sun-burning, steampunking, microbrew-drinking, generally rad guy with an active sense of wonder and a genuine heart. I love live music, festivals, and cons/expos of all kinds. I'm a musician, performer, dancer, artist, and lover of life with a strong sense of compassion and love for myself and others.

Beautiful, natural environments are critical to my survival; I love living near forests, mountains, and oceans, and I really enjoy outdoor activities. I'm interested in self-knowledge, divergent thinking, economics, creating, logic, art, philosophy, travel, photography, fashion, design, micro-brews, history, cosplay, fonts, psychology, and video games (especially retro-gaming). I also enjoy impromptu, living room dance parties, karaoke nights, Muppet movies, Mario Kart time trials, and Courtney Love-style nylon-tears interspersed with an abundance of PNW microbrews and pizza.
What I’m doing with my life
After nearly falling off the cliff of complacency in the "real world", I bought a one-way ticket to China last year and set out on an adventure to learn more about myself and grow as an individual. I could not have predicted how amazing the experience would be.

After living in and traveling through Asia for the better part of 2012, I moved to Seattle in the fall where I worked on music composition and recording (see some of my projects at or at I recently moved to Thailand where I'm adventuring with my partner and catching up with the other members of the clothing company I co-founded in Beijing.
I’m really good at
Swerving when I see mud puddles so I can splash water with the force of eighty-five horses. I love composing, recording, and performing music, as well as dancing, acting, and designing. I'm also good at listening, caring, hugging, and snuggling.
Oh, and wearing dresses - I look damn good in a dress and heels.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a fantastic mane of curly hair, a well-kept beard, and an infectious smile, so those are probably the first things a person notices about me physically. I'm also very friendly, easy to talk to, and I love to laugh, which are the things, I imagine, that a person notices immediately after the first things I described.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Bam. Sub-sectioned.

Miyazaki, documentaries, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine..., Requiem for a Dream, Shawshank Redemption, What Dreams May Come, and other thought-provoking films. I also dig any Muppet movie or legendary 80s/90s film, especially Labyrinth, The Goonies, The Sandlot, The Neverending Story, or my all-time favorite: The Princess Bride. "Anybody wanna peanut?"

Progressive rock, EDM, jazz, djent, bluegrass, downtempo, prog metal, world, and anything with emotive melodies. Some favorites are Karnivool, TesseracT, Rishloo, FTM, Zeds Dead, Ella Fitzgerald, Jim Croce, Mother Mother, Skrillex, A Perfect Circle, Imogen Heap, Copeland, Dream Theater, DCFC, Radiohead, Tracy Chapman, America, Chet Baker, Symphony of Science, Portishead...

Pizza, microbrews, Thai iced tea, horchata, kombucha, ice cream, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, American, Italian, Indian, Middle Eastern, German, and occasionally, Taco Bell food-substitute.

My all-time favorite artist is M.C. Escher. He's so hood. I also enjoy a lot of pop-art, surrealism, and other modern art. Some favorites include Dali, Picasso, Van Gogh, Duchamp, Warhol, Haring, Mondrian, Lichtenstein, Pollock, Toulouse-Lautrec, Rothko, and Lee Bull.

I mostly enjoy non-fiction books and articles, specifically those about economics, parenting, philosophy, psychology, history, science, epigenetics, voluntarism, languages, and self-knowledge. A few favorite authors include Carl Sagan, Richard Dawkins, Ray Bradbury, George Orwell, Thomas Woods, H.G. Wells, Christopher Hitchens, Murray Rothbard, and Stephen Hawking.

I don't watch much television, but the shows I do enjoy include The Guild, South Park, anything by John Stossel, Game of Thrones, Pen & Teller: Bullshit, The Simpsons, MythBusters, and anything about science, psychology, economics, or voluntarism.
The six things I could never do without
Love, Creativity, Nature, Music, Dancing, and Microbrews.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music. Everything is music.
I think often about how to be more rational, logical, compassionate, and self-aware. I also enjoy thinking and brainstorming about things like design, art, creation, fashion, traveling, food, and adventures.
On a typical Friday night I am
Performing, seeing a show, dancing, singing karaoke, dumpster diving, or hanging with fellow CouchSurfers. I also really enjoy Fridays that involve nothing more than pizza, beer/weed, and friends... and maybe some Cards Against Humanity or Muppets from Space.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was the kid in the 90s with the "rat tail." Please don't tell.

You should message me if
You're rad, honest, rational, and you have stories to tell and ideas to share. You're on a continual path of growth and you give both yourself and others love and compassion. You enjoy being totally goofy/nerdy, you like going to festivals, concerts, and cons, or you're a dumpster diver. You have colorful hair, you're a cosplayer, or you're a self-proclaimed nerd. You don't care for the gender binary. You take care of your body. Also, I tend to prefer cute over hot. Being both is wicked awesome.

I only engage in mutually-beneficial, voluntary relationships with fun, caring, logical people, so send me a message if that's you!
