What I’m doing with my life
School is the main
thing in my life. I will graduate in a year with an
interdisciplinary degree in
women's studies,
psychology, and
communication. Then it's off to
grad school
for my masters in
social work. I want to be a
counselor. It's what I like to do and luckily enough I am good at
it.
I also work on campus as a teacher's assistant.
I’m really good at
being a friend
sarcasm/wit
laughing
listening
observing
school
photography...well, I really like
it. I'm not sure how good I am, but here is a link to some of my

The first things people usually notice about me
I am a
big,
beautiful woman. People
also compliment my eyes and smile. I've been told I have a
classically beautiful face, so that was a huge compliment. Also my
height...I'm 5'11
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I am not good at picking favorites because I tend to like a lot of
things. I am more prone to watch "chick flicks," but also really
enjoy action and comedy genres as well. I love: Love and Other
Disasters, Dead Poet's Society, Crash, Hotel Rwanda, Becoming Jane,
Bridget Jones' Diary, Love Actually, Robin Hood Men in Tights,
Princess Bride, iRobot, and more.
I love all kinds of music. It just depends on what I am in the mood
to listen to. Sometimes it's
rock, other times it's
R&B,
country,
pop, and more. Also, anything I can sing
too.
I don't have a lot of time to read for fun due to the amount of
reading I have for class. And I spend most of my relaxation time
listening to music, on the computer, or watching tv. But I have
recently enjoyed reading The Shack and My Sister's Keeper. And I
like the Harry Potter series. And, yes, I am aware that it makes me
a bit of a nerd :)
The six things I could never do without

I am not very attached to items or things, but here are the things
I enjoy having and would miss if I didn't...

cell phone
ipod touch
music
camera
glasses/contacts...i need to see
I spend a lot of time thinking about
life in general...the future, the past, goals, family, friends,
self improvement. I think about the
possibilities life holds.
I also think a lot about social issues such as racism, sexism,
heterosexism. I think it's unnecessary to treat people with
disrespect because they are different from you. There is beauty in
the difference, so embrace it and learn something.
I also think a lot about what this world is doing to people...how
our society creates rules that narrow what we accept. We have
socially constructed our ideas of race, beauty, relationships,
gender roles, and so much more. And it's all limiting and leaves
people feeling less than worthy if they don't live up to some
random standard we have created. Sorry, my little rant is over now
:)
On a typical Friday night I am
It depends. Sometimes I am dancing, hanging out with friends, or
sometimes I am by myself listening to music, on my computer, or
watching tv.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am pretty much an open book to those I know. I try to use my
experiences in life to benefit others.
I guess you could say I am on a weight loss journey...changing my
lifestyle to be healthier and happier. And it's working. I've lost
65 lbs in the past 7 months (and counting).
