Anything by Gene Wolfe is worth reading more than once. He shames other authors. Neil Gaiman and Neal Stephenson are cool. Robert Heinlein was my favorite before Gene. Though Ender's Game still comes out near the top of my list, OSC is an ass. (not as bad as Harrlin Ellison, who can write a great short story) The Story of O is a good read, but maybe just because sitting around drinking single malt and spanking hot women is an appealing pasttime. Alastair Reynolds is the best living hard SciFi writer. Find me on Goodreads for more.
