My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to eat crazy things. I've lived a lot of strange and beautiful places, spoken some languages, and seen how people everywhere are more alike than different. I like people and the world, am a friendly and respectful atheist and have great faith that humans can and will figure out how to be good to each other and the planet. I'm a fan of Science. Also respect American pragmatism ala Twain or William James. I'm not as well read as that last ref I dropped might indicate. I'm a musician sometimes (but that's not why I'm in Nashville), an artist when i have time, an actor since forever, and everyday I teach children and want to give them more. I seem über manly in my hobbies or appearance but I was raised by strong women, so I'm a bit of a walking contradiction. Hi. This place is kind of scary but I hope to meet some nice people.

Good reads:
Pleasure-reading Thomas McGuane. 92 in the Shade is hilarious. Stegner's Beyond the 100th Meridian. Blood Meridian. Crónica de una muerte anunciada. Dos mil seiscientos sesenta y seis de Bolaño. Kiss of the Spider Woman. A Canticle for Leibowitz. His Dark Materials (more for message than style). The Sheltering Sky (more for style than message).

Tunes I like: "Beasts of No Nation" Fela Kuti, The Kinshasa Sound, Lord Invader, Kitchener, "Jean and Dinah", Wire, Thanksgiving, Katya Kabanova, Longstreth's the Graceful Fallen Mango, Lucinda's Happy Woman Blues, And the Machines are winning 7" by the paper chase, "PYT" by the King of Pop, Blood Rushing, "Amalia Rosa," Burzum (very begrudgingly for the wretched ideology behind something aesthetically pleasing), L.A.K.E. first album recorded by Karl Blau, the pretty great "Tierra del Olvido" vallenato-pop album from often cheesy Carlos Vives, the real stuff in Kaleth Morales's "Vivo en el Limbo", Beat Happening, "Clay Pigeons," Dusk at Cubist Castle by Olivia Tremor Control, Remain in Light by Talking Heads slash all their albums, early REM was such a great rock band. Gosh, I like music.

Films I just saw and therefore am psyched about: Carlos by Assayas, Happy People, Upstream Color.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Vastness of space. Race and privilege. Cultural appropriation. What is the snack most suited to me?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Preparing a deerskin, sewing, building something, reading, playing songs, or else hanging with new people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Open book, few secrets.

You like meandering walks, bike rides, and conversations. You like to eat crazy things, too and have a recommendation. Or perhaps you just wanna shoot the shit on here.
