I am charmed, I'm sure, and ....
My Self-Summary
When I was little, I wanted to be on Broadway when I grew up. Now,
I just want to be an old woman. My best quality is my friendly and
outgoing nature which shines through most of the time, except when
I am feeling shy (which is hardly ever). I'm happiest when
exploring, making stuff, sharing a drink with a good friend, or
rummaging through an antique store. I would love to spend the rest
of my life sending postcards from faraway lands... or maybe just
San Francisco.
What I’m doing with my life
Working with a group of creatives at a letterpress studio, curating
at a little gallery in my "free" time, freelancing my graphic
design "skills" selectively, and trying to make art of my own every
once in awhile. (and apparently using quotation marks liberally).
Escape from SF and the country is necessary, but exploring the city
is still a favorite pastime after almost 5 years.
I’m really good at
I am marginally good at many things... Karaoke, deep sea fishing,
rolling my "r"s, going on safari, stitching, keeping plants alive,
drawing, playing the piano, returning movies, running down the
street in 3 inch heels, geometry, punch line delivery...
The first things people usually notice about me
How my perfectly straight hair is... every indication of my sexual
preferences.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I make a mean cocktail. I also make amazing appetizers, other than
that, you have to fend for yourself - or cook for me.
Among others, I enjoy listening to: Neil Young, Blonde Redhead, Tom
Petty, Portishead, My Morning Jacket, The Shins, Elliot Smith, REM,
Pixies, Mum, Pinback, Miles Davis, Chopin, and Abba.
I prefer to call them films. I abhor watching most movies more than
once. If I really love a movie I may have seen it three times,
tops. A few of these are "Bringing Up Baby", "Vertigo",
"Delicatessen", "Royal Tenenbaums", "Being John Malkovich", "Time
Bandits", etc...
I have a handful of books in my tiny apartment - mostly about art
and whatever I have managed to read in the past few years. The
majority remain stowed away in a garage in Paradise. Many others
have been lent or otherwise managed to escape. Hopefully someday
they (and many others) will all reside in one room with a fireplace
and a comfy chair… Suffice it to say that I really enjoy reading,
but not out loud. Some of my favorites are: A.S. Byatt, Murakami,
Bulgakov, Borges, Dickens, Gregory Maguire, Kate Atkinson, Arturo
Perez-Reverte, Osker Wilde, Nick Hornby, Mark Twain, Edward Gorey,
Dostoevsky, Umberto Eco, and Leonard Shlain.
The six things I could never do without
Cheese...
obnoxiously long showers...
Pomegranates...
Spell Check...
ellipses
Benadryl... really I'd be dead (food allergies)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Seahorses, Sweden, painting an octopus, sailing away in a boat,
what color I want to paint my white walls, if I should go back to
school, if it is remotely feasible to own a dog, analyzing my
dreams from the night before...
On a typical Friday night I am
On my way somewhere... to drink Manhattans/dinner with friends/an
art show/the theater/leaving the city, the country or work...
